DRAWINGS

The following images are drawn from the live model. In many cases, the poses are studies for works to be translated into sculptural form. Like the artists of the Renaissance, these drawings serve as a blueprint for future works. The unfinished quality is indicative of images in process created through the eyes and hands of the artist.

WOMAN
stick and ink
21" x 11"
2006

A stick is dipped into a bottle of ink and used like a pen. The quality of line changes as the saturation of ink decreases. Drops of ink indicate a period of observation before the stick touches the page.

Interpretation of the figure is reduced to the most essential linear elements.
